Obituary for Elizabeth Dean (1962–2022) – Colonial Heights, VA – World Today News

DEAN, Elizabeth “Liz” Ann, 59, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, died Saturday, January 29, 2022. She was born on July 4, 1962 in Virginia to Thomas Edwin Dean Sr. and Kathleen Williams Dean. Liz preceded her mother Kathleen in death; and her son Kevin Dean Crocker.

Liz was a very strong, cheerful and energetic woman who had a heart of gold and helped others who needed a helping hand. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Lee and Kevin, whom she loved more than words could express. She dedicated 40 years to the state of Virginia as a business executive, working at Virginia Natural Heritage and the Virginia Health Department. Liz loved playing sports including softball and soccer (indoor and outdoor). She devoted many years to coaching and helping children develop their soccer skills. Liz has touched the lives of many more than she ever realized and she will be truly missed.

She is survived by her loving son, Lee Crocker; father, Thomas E. Dean Sr. (Carol); brother, Thomas E. Dean Jr. (Christy); sister, Angela Martin; aunts, Anna Carter, Therese Williams, Judy McCartney and Judy Sims; two uncles, Johnny Williams, Jimmy Williams; and a multitude of extended families and wonderful and special friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Burial will be at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Road, Chesterfield, Virginia 23834.
