Polarstern is a sports division of the Swedish carmaker Volvo and has now released two special editions of the electric car called simply 2. The first was called Experimental and was created for the Festival of Speed in Goodwood in 2021. The second is now coming to show the electric car tons of extreme winter conditions. Hence the name Polarkreis, ie in Czech “polar circle”.
While the Experimental model focused on the racetrack, the Arctic Circle version has a 30 millimeter higher ground clearance and also boasts 19-inch OZ Racing wheels with spikes in the tires. The car is based on the Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor model and received, among other things, Öhlins shock absorbers or four-piston Brembo brakes.

In addition to various other accessories in the equipment, the main advantage of the unique electric car is the increased performance. The concept can get up to 469 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque from a pair of engines. In addition to performance, the Polestar 2 in the Arctic Circle version is also equipped with a carbon shovel made of carbon fiber or a Recaro sports seat.
Unfortunately for fans and potential buyers, Polestar has confirmed that this experimental car has no future in terms of series production. The idea of the vehicle was to show a Swedish car as a vegetarian for winter rallies.
