Kaizer Chiefs have received praise for the club’s decision to reward youngsters with contract extensions.
Phefeni Glamor Boys didn’t have a good January transfer window and failed to meet the club’s transfer targets as clubs showed no interest in leaving these players.
This week, Amakhosi renewed the contracts of seven youngsters, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo (June 2024), Sabelo Radebe (June 2026), Happy Mashiane (June 2025), Reeve Frosler (June 2025), Bruce Bvuma (June 2024), while Keletso Sifama and Thabo Mokoena signed for another two and a half years.
Former Amakhosi player Rene Richards has applauded the club for showing confidence in their future and believes those players must now become regulars in the team if they can reclaim their glory days.
“It’s a big deal for Chiefs. It’s really a good step in rebuilding the club, now they have to make sure they use them regularly,” Richards told the Siya crew.
“With these long contracts, they are definitely inspired to work hard because the club has shown confidence in them. The club must be applauded for this decision and the fans should be really happy about it. The club is on the right track. ”
