COVID: Mexico reports 42 thousand 582 cases and 522 deaths

Mexico registered this Saturday 42 thousand 582 new COVID infections to reach a total of four million 916 thousand 143 cases, in addition to 522 deaths to total 305 thousand 762 deathsreported the Ministry of Health.

The country has maintained the average number of daily infections above 40,000, although last week, it registered its highest numbers of new cases, with a historical record of 60,552 on January 19, in addition to daily deaths above 300.

Of the confirmed infections, there are 296 thousand 042 active cases, who have presented symptoms during the last 14 days and account for 5.7% of the total. Furthermore, since the start of the pandemic Three million 986 thousand 898 people have recovered.

The average occupancy of general beds in Mexican hospitals stands at 45% and that of intensive care at 29%.


The authorities also indicated that within the vaccination program more than 165.17 million doses have been administered, adding 601 thousand 978 during the last day.

Of the 126 million inhabitants, 83.5 million in the country have received at least one dose of the vaccine, with which 89% of the population aged 18 and over have received at least one dose; meanwhile, 77 million have completed their vaccination schedule.
