Jelena Dokic says Ash Barty is “prepared and ready to win the Australian Open this year” ahead of tonight’s blockbuster quarter-final showdown with American Jessica Pegula.
Barty was the standout player in the women’s draw in four rounds, losing just 15 games and winning every match in straight sets.
Pegula, today’s opponent, has lost 42 games in her four games, the most of the eight players remaining in the draw.

“Her serve was the best ever, she moves amazingly and I felt like she’s really ready and equipped to win the Australian Open this year,” said Dokic.
“I find all the pressure and expectations she’s dealing with incredible, especially here in Australia, which isn’t always easy when you play at home.”
