We all crave a grab-and-go meal from time to time — but one man has shown his serious commitment to customers (and hunger) after trekking through treacherous snowy weather to get some food… only for the restaurant to be closed .
Toronto recently had an historic winter snowstorm that caused drivers to become stuck on the roads after over 36 inches of snow fell in the area. CBC reported.
Despite the extreme weather conditions, someone seems determined to enjoy some Caribbean cuisine as they braved the elements to travel to Nicey’s Eatery and reach the restaurant on foot, making their way through heavy snow.
However, upon arrival, the customer quickly realized the restaurant was closed due to the snow, as security footage showed the person dramatically falling to his knees in disappointment before turning and exiting the premises.
When Nicey’s Eatery managed to video CCTV footage of the engaged customer, they posted it to their Instagram account on January 18th in hopes of finding the person who braved the snow for their meal to mark their engagement with free reward food.

In the post, they apologized to the customer and wrote: “To our loyal customers, we don’t know who you are but we’ll be keeping an eye out for you. We are very sorry that the restaurant has been closed. We sense your disappointment and hope to see you soon. Whatever you wanted to buy today, the food is on us.”
Valerie Lai, the owner of Nicey’s Eatery, tells the story narcity: “It’s heartwarming to know that our food means so much to him.”
She shared her “total disbelief” that “anyone would venture out of the house to get food in these harsh conditions.”
Since the appeal for the mysterious dedicated customer was published, the post has garnered thousands of likes and many comments from people praising the restaurant’s gesture and hoping the person can be identified.
One person wrote: “So nice of you niceys! I feel for him!”
“I really really hope he follows you on IG and sees that!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude, where are you?” said another person.
Another added: “Now I have to try your food! When he went so hard for a plate. I have to try!”
“Nothing beats a good Caribbean meal to soothe the soul on a cold winter day! Feel bro,” replied a fourth person.
Some good news for the customer as Nicey’s Eatery has reopened after they posted a video showing staff shoveling away the snow.
Let’s hope the mystery customer is identified and gets the food he’s been craving.
