NORTH HAVEN — Winnie LaRochelle scored 13 of her game-high 29 points in the first quarter as Rangeley drove past North Haven 72-33 in a Class D girls basketball game on Friday.
Cheyanne Avery added 15 points for Rangeley (4-1), who led 27-2 after a quarter. Emily Eastlack filled the stats with nine points, six steals and six assists.
Isabelle Haskell led North Haven (1-3) by 11 points and Layla Sparhawk by eight points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
LISSABON 55, WINTHROP 42: Levi Tibbetts scored 22 points to lead the Greyhounds to victory at the Mountain Valley Conference in Winthrop.
Mason Booker added 10 points for Lisbon (8-2) while Caden Boone scored eight.
Winthrop (7-2) was led by Bradon Stubbert with 14 points. Logan Baird chipped 12 while Andrew Foster had 10.
RANGELEY 78, NORTH HAVEN 30: Four players scored in double digits to lead the Lakers (1-4) to their first win of the season by defeating the Hawks (0-4) in North Haven.
Malcolm Balch posted a game high with 24 points, Boden Washington 18, Anthony Whittier 17 and Chase Carmichael 12 for Rangeley.
Bret Waterman led North Haven by 16 points.
FICHTENBERG 53, OAK HILL 38: The Phoenix pulled away in the fourth quarter to secure the MVC win in Wales.
Jace Bessey led with 24 points for Spruce Mountain (9-0).
Ian York scored 13 points for the Phoenix, with eight coming in the first quarter. Owen Bryant also scored 10.
Jackson Arbor led Oak Hill (5-5) with 17 points while teammate Caden Thompson added seven points.
