COVID: Mexico adds 49 thousand 906 cases of the virus and 331 deaths

Mexico registered this Friday 49 thousand 906 new infections of COVID-19 for a total of four million 595 thousand 589 cases, in addition to 331 deaths to reach 302 thousand 721 total deathsreported the Ministry of Health.

Of the number of confirmed cases, there are 353 thousand 885 active, who have presented symptoms during the last 14 days and account for 7.1% of the total. What’s more, Since the start of the pandemic, 3,621,133 people have recovered.

The average occupancy of general beds stands at 39% and the use of intensive care beds at 23%.

Starting next Monday, January 24 and until February 6, 12 of the 32 states in the country will be at a green epidemiological risk traffic light (low risk of contagion), 10 will be yellow (medium risk), among them Mexico City; nine in orange (high risk) and one in red (maximum risk).


The authorities also indicated that within the vaccination program 158.65 million doses have been administered, adding 780 thousand 913 during the last day.

Of its 126 million inhabitants, 83.15 million in the country have at least one dose of the vaccine. Meanwhile, 76.34 million have completed their vaccination schedule.
