Tottenham are poised to hijack a Newcastle deal for a top LaLiga centre-back as part of a possible treble January deal, while Friday’s transfer gossip claims Arsenal are ready to offer Dusan Vlahovic a big incentive to head to north London walk.
SPURS WANT TO MAKE TRIPLE DEAL
Tottenham are reportedly trying to hijack Newcastle’s move to Seville center Diego Carlos as the clock counts down in the January transfer window.
The well-funded Magpies, who have already signed Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood, have already placed a £28million bid for the Brazilian this month.
However, a report in The sun claims Spurs are also keeping a close eye on the player, with Antonio Conte looking to sign at least one new centre-back this month.
The 28-year-old has scored four goals in 106 appearances for the Spanish side and played a key role in their 2019-20 Europa League triumph.
Carlos is known as a strong defender who loves physical fights but is also comfortable with possession. In many ways he resembles current Tottenham loanee Cristian Romero.
At this stage it seems so Newcastle remain favorites to seal a deal, especially since they have a head start. However, Spurs are expected to be able to offer European football in the future while Newcastle are still locked in a relegation battle.
Tottenham are now looking to land Kessie in January
Meanwhile, multiple reports suggest Tottenham are ready to bring forward a move for AC Milan star Franck Kessie.
The midfielder will be a free agent this summer, with clubs outside of Italy now able to sign a pre-contract.
However, it looks like Antonio Conte now wants Kessi on board for a relatively small fee.
Spurs want Kessie on board, particularly after it was revealed PSG are opening talks to sign club-record Tanguy Ndombele.
The France international has fallen completely out of favor with Conte after reacting to being substituted off in the FA Cup win over Morecambe.
And finally, Tottenham are expected to return with another offer for the Wolves winger after an initial £15million bid was rejected.
The Molineux team are said to have £20million in store for the Spain international, with Spurs likely to up their next offer to £17-18million.
