There will be no Premier League games during the winter break – Archyde

22 Premier League games have been postponed so far this season. In most cases, the background was corona outbreaks, but there were also cases of player bottlenecks due to a combination of several causes. For example, Arsenal postponed Sunday’s clash against Tottenham.

After the games this weekend there is a very small winter break in the Premier League. The next full game round will take place during the week of February 8-10. The FA Cup will be played the weekend before, in addition to a league game between Burnley and Watford on February 5.

The Premier League could be tempted to catch up on some of the postponed games this break as spring is busy for many sides, but they don’t want to capitalize on the opportunity. It reports Sky Sports.

This gives many players time to rest while others like Harvey Elliott, Nat Phillips and hopefully Thiago have time to get back into shape from injuries. However, some have to play national team football. Both the Africans, who are in the Africa Cup of Nations playoffs, and the South Americans, who will play a postponed round in their World Cup qualifiers. For Liverpool, that applies to five players – Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Alisson Becker. No international matches will be played in Europe this time.

Liverpool have postponed one Premier League game so far, which is their home game against Leeds on Boxing Day. A new date has not yet been announced.
