Martha Stewart is known to many as an enterprising businesswoman and television personality. And because she was sentenced to prison for insider trading in 2004.
Couldn’t stop thinking about it
This week, Stewart hosted The Ellen DeGeneres show, where she played the game Two Lies and a Truth with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, 63.
Stewart, 80, then revealed she previously dated actor Anthony Hopkins and revealed to DeGeneres why she ended it, she writes Insider.
Stewart reportedly broke up with Hopkins because she couldn’t stop thinking about him as Hannibal Lecter, the infamous cannibal from the 1991 film The Night Warmer.
Didn’t think it was true
Stewart began the second round of the game by claiming:
“I dated Sir Anthony Hopkins but broke up with him because I couldn’t stop seeing him as Hannibal Lecter.”
Talk show host DeGeneres thought the claim was one of the two lies and was shocked when Stewart revealed the claim was true.
– I have a big spooky house in Maine. It sits on a remote hilltop all alone on 100 acres in the woods, and I couldn’t even imagine taking Anthony Hopkins there, says Stewart, before continuing:
– I couldn’t because all I could think about was that he ate… You know.
Today, 84-year-old Anthony Hopkins is considered one of the greatest living actors in the world.
It is still the role of the cannibal Hannibal Lecter that he is best known for. He also won the Academy Award for Best Male Actor for portraying the infamous cannibal.
