W.Va. Nurses Tax Credit Bill Introduced by Senate – Archyde

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – Senate Bill 447 would create a $5,000 tax credit for nurses in West Virginia if passed.

The bill comes a month after Gov. Justice has announced a new $48 million program to recruit, train and retain nurses in Mountain State.

The legislation was introduced by Sen. Caputo (D), representing Marion County in the 13th District.

It was referred to the Senate Health and Human Resources Committee.

In the introductory article of the law, the legislature “states that it is an important public policy to encourage participation in nursing by providing tax credits to those who provide important nursing services to their community.”
