The UAE Ministry of Education has approved a series of precautionary measures to be implemented in educational institutions across the country.

All students must receive a negative PCR test result not older than 96 hours upon first entering their educational facility.

They are also required to repeat a PCR test every two weeks, according to a guideline issued Wednesday by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).

The Alhosn Green Pass scheme is introduced to allow parents to enter educational institutions. To do this, they also need a negative PCR test result that is not older than 96 hours.

External school trips will remain suspended until further notice. However, sporting and cultural activities in schools can be carried out in compliance with the necessary precautions.

NCEMA said distance learning will be available as an option for those who wish to take advantage of it.
