The wheeled cart is said to be the invention of Sumerians who founded Mesopotamia (meaning ‘between rivers’) civilization in the banks of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in Southwest Asia. Sumer paved the way for thriving by being able to transport much more goods faster than before using carts. However, in the Mesopotamian plains called the ‘Fertile Crescent’, the carts were first used 4500 years ago.
