In a surprise release, the Anniversary Edition of the popular 2010 visual novel game Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc has been released on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. In addition, the game is also available through both Xbox Game Pass and PC game pass. Compared to the original version of the game, the Anniversary Edition features a gallery where players can view and re-enact character events, dialogue, and sprites. There is also an Ultimate Gallery featuring promotional art and character sheets from the game’s original artbook.
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is the first game in the Danganronpa series, mainly focusing on high school student Makoto Naegi and his classmates who find themselves trapped at their school and forced to deal with an evil bear named Monokuma. The player must try to find out who Monokuma really is while the bear tries to turn the students against each other and use violence.
For many years, the Danganronpa series was exclusive to the PlayStation and Steam ecosystem, which made the release of this game on Xbox and Microsoft Store very surprising and unexpected. Hopefully more Danganronpa games will come to Xbox.
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition is available for $15 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC (either through the Microsoft Store or Steam).
