Comedy! Had Songong, Pep Guardiola’s guts shriveled to hear Sir Alex Ferguson’s performances – Archyde

Pep Guardiola boasts after winning the award manager of the month (MOTM) for the 11th time in the English Premier League but immediately shrank upon learning how many MOTMs Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson had won.

The Spaniard picked up MOTM for the second year in a row for his exploits with Manchester City in December, with them winning all of their Premier League games that month.

That title makes him the third most MOTM winner in Premier League history, behind only Arsene Wenger and Ferguson.

With Arsenal, Wenger successfully won 15 MOTM titles while Ferguson leads the standings with 27 titles.

After learning of his accomplishments at a press conference, Guardiola smiled slyly and boasted: “Be careful Sir Alex, Arsene… I’ll follow!”

But when he heard Ferguson win 27 MOTM during his 26-year Man United career, Guardiola gasped in amazement.

“How much?!” he answered. “Oh my God! Ok… It’s his. I’m definitely not chasing him!”

Although Guardiola’s performances account for less than half of Ferguson’s, the 50-year-old coach won the MOTM faster than the legendary manager.

Guardiola is currently in his sixth season in the Premier League while Ferguson has completed 21 seasons.

So if the City boss decides to stay in the EPL for long, he could potentially win 27 MOTM titles.

Ferguson finished 13 of his 21 seasons in the EPL as champion and was named champion manager of the year up to 11 times.

Guardiola has also won the award three times as he led City to glory in 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2020/21.

City have a league game ahead of them in January and if they beat Southampton, Guardiola could top up his MOTM treasury as he cements his path to a fourth Premier League title in five years.
