New York lawmakers pushed through a new law that will do just that ban tiny plastic bottles for toiletries hotels by 2025, with penalties starting at $250 per violation.

Advocates say banning single-use plastic bottles will address a serious environmental issue. About 33 million pounds of plastic waste is washed into the world’s oceans every year, snaring and killing some sea turtles and marine mammals.
