COVID: The IMSS delivers more than 50 thousand disability permits 3.0


From January 10 to date, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) has granted 50 thousand 967 COVID Permit authorizations through the IMSS Digital application or online, aimed at workers directly insured by the institution as holders, so that they can deliver it to their employers to justify the absence from their jobs.

The institute in charge of Zoe Robledo recalled that this request is only for people registered in the Compulsory Regime and that the type of modality grants benefits in money, and not to those who are registered in modalities 32 (Optional Insurance), 33 (Insurance of Health for the Family) and 40 (Voluntary Continuation of the Compulsory Regime).

With the COVID Permit, workers who are infected by the SarsCoV2 virus obtain their disability for up to seven days and the corresponding payment in their bank account, easily, quickly and without the need to make transfers in order to break the chains of contagion.

“The COVID Permit is a response to the pandemic, which is why it is available and in operation for workers with symptoms of coronavirus, or those asymptomatic people who have a positive laboratory test result, where they must fill out a questionnaire to obtain your permission through the IMSS Digital app or website imss.gob.mx/covid-19/permiso“, expressed the IMSS.

The worker You must add your CURP, NSS, zip code and click “Start” to answer the questionnaires about symptoms, vaccination and pre-existing conditions. Subsequently, the system will ask you to enter additional information: Contact phone number and if you have proof of respiratory illness -although this will not be a condition for granting a COVID Permit when symptoms occur.

To finish the request, You must provide an email and the CLABE interbank account to receive the corresponding payment; When obtaining the COVID-19 Permit, you must notify your employer in order to justify the absence from your workplace.

This strategy is not subject to the epidemiological traffic light and does not require a COVID test as a mandatory requirement. The duration of this permit is seven days for beneficiaries with symptoms and five days for asymptomatic people who have a positive test.
