Met Eireann has forecast a great week as warmer weather sets in and a high pressure spell will ‘call the shots’ for the foreseeable future.
While today starts out chilly with scattered patches of haze and fog, the frost and any fog will dissipate as the morning progresses.
Monday will be another dry day with developing solar periods.
In the afternoon it will become cloudier. Maximum temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees with a light to moderate southeast breeze, occasionally fresh near the coast.
The night begins dry but fairly cloudy with only occasional clear spells. Clouds will continue to thicken overnight with patchy rain and drizzle developing towards morning, mainly affecting the west coast.
Minimum temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees with a moderate southerly wind. With a light to moderate southerly wind, isolated wafts of fog will form.
An overall overcast, overcast and humid day tomorrow, with erratic rain and drizzle spreading eastward across the province in the morning and afternoon, easing as the day progresses.
Maximum temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with a moderate south-west wind, occasionally refreshing.
After a rainy Tuesday, the rest of this week is looking good.
Sunshine and clear skies are expected to continue into the weekend as the Met forecast Eireann to be ‘broadly dry and settled’ this week.
Any persistent rain will ease on Wednesday morning leaving a mostly dry day with only a few scattered drizzles.
It will be fairly cloudy overall but occasional sunny spells will develop in Cork.
Highs of 7 to 9 degrees with a light to moderate north-west breeze.
Wednesday evening will remain mostly dry with clear spells developing – lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees generally, a touch colder in West Cork.
Thursday will be another mostly dry day with sunny spells. Maximum temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees with a light north-west breeze.
Thursday night appears to remain dry with some clear spells. With a light breeze, patches of haze and wafts of fog will form.
Lowest temperatures of 0 degrees.
A dry day with sunshine and a light breeze. Again it will be cloudiest in the west, with the best sunny spells elsewhere. Maximum temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees.
High pressure will persist over the weekend bringing much dry and calm weather, although there will be occasional light rain and drizzle.
