Fight for UP: Cabinet Minister Swami Prasad Maurya leaves BJP and joins SP | Lucknow News – To the world

LUCKNOW: In a big shock for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh before parliamentary elections, cabinet minister Swami Prasad Maurya resigned from office on Tuesday and joined the Samajwadi Party.
His daughter Sanghmitra Maurya is a BJP MP from Badaun.
In his resignation letter, he said he was angry with the sidelines of the Dalits and weaker sections of society.

He was annoyed that his son Utkarsh Maurya was not “adequately accommodated” in the government of Yogi Adityanath.
Swami Prasad Maurya, once a senior leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party, joined the BJP shortly before the 2017 general election.
In 2017 he won the seat in Padrauna with a BJP ticket and became Minister of Labor.
Sources close to Swami Prasad Maurya said Sanghmitra Maurya will stay in BJP “for now”.
Swami Prasad Maurya’s resignation and his likely entry into the Samajwadi Party comes as a great shock to the BJP as he continues to be popular in his community.
