In the week that ended Sunday, Nevada new coronavirus cases rose 133.9% as 24,831 cases were reported. In the previous week there were 10,618 new cases of the virus that is causing COVID-19.

Nevada was ranked 43rd among states with the fastest spread of coronavirus per person, according to an analysis by the USA TODAY Network of data from Johns Hopkins University. Last week, coronavirus cases in the United States rose 75.9% from the previous week, with 4,967,431 cases reported. At 0.93% of the country’s population, Nevada had 0.5% of the country’s cases in the past week. Across the country, 49 states had more cases in the past week than the week before.
