The Slovak skier Petra Vlhová hit her start number in the slalom on Tuesday evening in Schladming, Austria.
The race was originally supposed to take place at the traditional women’s night slalom in Flachau, but due to the unfavorable situation in connection with the spread of the coronavirus infection, the organizers decided to cancel and postpone the event.
It was moved to nearby Schladming, where a traditional and very prestigious men’s night slalom is held every year. The last time skiers competed in this area was in 2012. In addition to the famous new hill, the racing drivers can also look forward to a quality slope that they had problems with at the last two events.
Petra Vlhová, who has won five of the six slaloms so far, can look forward to winning a small globe in this discipline after the end of the second round. It is enough if it takes at least third place.
The biggest favorites go right at the beginning. Žreb has assigned a unit to a Slovak skier Petre Vlhovejwhich sets the default value the first time. She drove six slaloms in one season, won five and finished second once.
The American will have two Mikaela Shiffrinová, who failed last weekend in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, finished seventh in the giant slalom and was eliminated in the second round of slalom the next day. The race in Schladming will be extremely important for them, also because it will be the last slalom before the Olympics.
We see the German with the three Lenu Duerrovú. In Slovenia it showed an improved performance and finished fourth. She had a strong start to the season, two third places in Levi, but then did worse.
Switzerland is fourth Michelle Gisinováwho want to improve the taste. She did not finish the first round of the last slalom. This season she was already on the podium once and was third in Lienz.

The first round of the night slalom starts on Tuesday at 6 p.m., the second is on the program at 8:45 p.m.
