Jamia student wins two bronze medals at the National Para Badminton Championship

Munna Khalid, PhD student at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), won two bronze medals in the fourth national para-badminton championship. Khalid and Suresh Kadki won one bronze medal in the individual competition and the other bronze in the double competition.

He is the first player from the NCT state of Delhi to win a medal in a national para badminton championship.

The 4th National Para-Badminton Championship was organized by the Para-Sports Association of Odisha between December 24th and 26th, 2021 in Bhubaneshwar.

Munna Khalid, enrolled in the Hindi section of JMI, is the first NCT Delhi player to win a medal in a national para-badminton championship.

Before enrolling for his PhD at JMI, Khalid also received a BA (Hons.) Hindi, Master of Social Work (MSW) and MA (Hindi) from the university. JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar congratulated Kahlid on this achievement and wished him every success in his future endeavors.

JMI was recently accredited with an A ++ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NACC). This is the highest grade that the coveted NAAC gives an institution based on various parameters such as research, infrastructure, learning resources, evaluation, innovation and governance following a rigorous evaluation method. The ranking is based on a NAAC peer team review between December 6th and 8th, 2021, as reported by the media.
