Get tested, Año urges those in Makati locations visited by quarantine violators on December 23 – archyde

MANILA, Philippines – The people who have been to the same facilities visited on December 23 by the COVID-positive woman who skipped quarantine should get tested and isolate, Interior Minister Eduardo Año said in an interview Thursday via ABS-CBNs “Teleradyo. ”

According to Año, the woman ate at a restaurant called Mijo and then went to a bar called Kampai on December 23 – both in Barangay Poblacion, Makati, after leaving their quarantine hotel.

“We have confirmed that she has left the hotel,” said Año in a mixture of Filipino and English. “The CCTV showed that she was really there.”

The woman tested positive for COVID-19 after her weaning test on December 26, the last day of her quarantine after arriving from the United States on December 22.

However, it is not yet clear whether she was infected with the Omicron variant, which is currently afflicted in the USA.

“We don’t know if it’s Omicron, but we’ve seen how fast the virus is spreading here. So we ask everyone to be careful – especially those who have been to the places we mentioned on December 23rd. Isolate yourself and do a swab test to ensure your safety, ”said Año.

He said the woman could have infected dozens of people as around 15 have already tested positive for COVID-19

Earlier, Tourism Minister Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said Chua “boasted of having connections” after skipping quarantine and attending a party in Makati.
