We kept an eye out for the year-end drops of next-generation consoles in the US, despite exceptions such as a recent PlayStation 5 sale from Walmart that went on for an hour, they are as hard to get as ever. On the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, however, it may be different where Amazon UK put up a sale sign next to Microsoft’s £ 449.99 Xbox Series X – complete with same day delivery – for over 12 hours without end.
The cheaper Xbox Series S was a lot easier to find, but it’s never been that long to sell for either of the two flagship 4K game consoles. In response to our reporter Tom Warren on Twitter, a person answers Similar sightings in France this week, so it’s possible the continent is just a little oversupplied with new Xboxes right now, even though we’re not in the US.
This is cold comfort to anyone trying to buy one before Christmas or New Years, but hopefully each of you will stay safe and sound and find what they are looking for soon. If you’re still out on the hunt, keep an eye on our page and Twitter @Verge for updates and remember, you’re probably in the same situation as Eddy Cue.
