Women’s boxing pound-for-pound leaderboard – Amanda Serrano takes a giant step after a formidable win – archyde

Katie Taylor, Claressa Shields and Amanda Serrano continue to lead the pound-for-pound ESPN women’s rankings. But now we have a new order.

Serrano (42-1-1, 30 KOs), dominated a game played by Miriam Gutierrez on December 18 to build a potential mega-fight against undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor next year in what may be the greatest women’s boxing match of all time. The win also earned her 2nd place ahead of Shields.

ESPN writer Michael Rothstein put Serrano at number 3 on their list, but admits that anyone in the top 3 could be number one on any given day.

“The top three in the pound-for-pound ratio are getting harder and harder to gauge,” said Rothstein. “At this point, you could argue that Katie Taylor, Claressa Shields or Amanda Serrano are the best in the world – and in a year this whole list could be turned upside down. That is the potential of deep women’s boxing. “Is finally beginning to show.”

Another fighter taking a step is Seniesa Estrada, who defended her WBA strawweight title with an impressive fourth-round knockout against Maria Santizo on December 18.

Who else made it into the top 10? Here is the list:
