“The province of Antwerp has given us the green light to organize three Tomorrowland weekends in 2022, so only in 2022,” says Tomorrowland representative Debby Wilmsen Poster. “All weekends are in July, so we’re adding an extra weekend before our traditional last two weekends in July.”
Tomorrowland 2022 now takes place on March 15-17. July 22-24 July and 29th-31st July in the Belgian cities of Boom and Rumst. Antwerp has jurisdiction over the city of Boom, where the festival takes place in Park De Schorre, and Rumst, the nearby city, where the festival camping area – called DreamVille – is located.
As Wilmsen mentioned, that three-week expansion won’t come until 2022 as the company seeks to recoup about 25 million euros ($ 28 million) in lost revenue. Both the 2020 and 2021 editions of the festival, which hosts hundreds of dance artists and 75,000 visitors a day, have been canceled due to the pandemic.
the Cancellation of the events in 2021 was a particularly hard blow to the company. That cancellation came just two months prior to the scheduled launch of Tomorrowland 2021, when local officials refused to allow the two-week event to run amid concerns about the rising cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19 and the complexity of the logistics to ensure it Health and safety checks for the crowd.
Ticket holders from 2021 would have their passes automatically transferred to the 2022 shows. A number of new tickets will be available shortly with the third weekend. More information on tickets for Tomorrowland 2022 will be announced in the coming weeks.
