Council leaders urged people to get their covid booster vaccination as they praised the people who delivered the vital vaccine at a clinic in Faringdon.

Vale of White Horse Anführerin Emily Smith and Deputy Head Bethia Thomas, who is Faringdon Parish Council, attended the White Horse Medical Practice on Thursday the 16th.

They presented Dr. Rob Russ and his team of staff and volunteers who have given more than 32,000 vaccinations since the clinic opened a year ago, chocolates and a thank you card.

A practice nurse volunteered while on maternity leave, and the park rangers worked in all weathers and even shoveled snow to make sure people got their vaccine.

The clinic has a capacity for more than 500 Covid vaccinations per day. It also allowed the primary care physician to focus on the daily appointments.

Cllr Thomas said, “I am very proud of the hard work that Dr. Ross and his team in my community are doing to protect us all by vaccinating people, and they deserve a big thank you. I helped out, arranged shifts in the parking lot whenever I could, and volunteered for the big push before Christmas – that’s a real team effort. “

Cllr Smith said, “With this new variant of Omicron, getting your booster is more important than ever. I would like to urge everyone who has not yet booked their booster vaccination or their first vaccination to do so as soon as possible. “

As of December 16, the Vale of White Horse had received 266,448 Covid vaccinations. Check if you are eligible and get your booster over
