After finishing his work on From Software’s. had started Elden Ring years ago, around 2017-18, A song of ice and fire Author George RR Martin has now completed what may be his last post on the game and published a post on his personal blog.

Titled A long time ago…, the blog post includes two full paragraphs and suggests that Martin, who is known for writing epic lyrics that he can’t finish, may have learned to control his ambitions a little to see something is completed and published.

Here is the post where he drops both of them Railroad tycoon and the original Master of Orion mentions which rules:

A few years ago, Hidetaka Miyazaki and his incredible team of game designers, the creators of the DARK SOULS video game series, contacted me from Japan to ask me to help them create the backstory and story for a new game that was they worked. Well, video games aren’t really my thing – oh, I’ve played a few before, mostly strategy games like RAILROAD TYCOON, ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS, and MASTER OF ORION – but that offer was too exciting to turn down. Miyazaki and his team at FromSoftware did groundbreaking things with great art, and what they wanted from me was just a little world-building: a deep, dark, resonant world that would serve as the foundation for the game they wanted to create. And besides, I love creating worlds and writing imaginary stories.

So I did my bit and passed it on to my new friends in Japan, and they took it over from there. And years passed. Video games are as big as movies these days (actually bigger) … and it takes just as long to create.

But the day of the ELDEN RING is finally here.

And I have to say it looks amazing.

Please note that he also closed the post with it, which I had to capture as a gif, as it is not a real Emjoi:

Elden Ring will be released on February 22nd, 2022, but you Elden Ring Freaks already knew that.
