COVID: Mexico reports 211 new deaths and 2,750 infections

The Ministry of Health reported this Friday that Mexico registered 211 new deaths from COVID-19 to reach 297 thousand 567 total deaths Y two thousand 750 new infections for a total of three million 930 thousand 015.

With these figures, Mexico remains the fourth country with the most deaths from the virus, behind the United States, Brazil and India, and the fifteenth in number of confirmed infections, according to the Johns Hopkins University count.

Of the total number of cases, there are 18 thousand 756 active, who have presented symptoms during the last 14 days and account for 0.5% of the total. In addition, since the beginning of the pandemic Three million 283 thousand 899 people have been recovered.

The average occupancy of general beds stands at 15% and the use of intensive therapy beds at 12%.

Last Tuesday, the Government of Mexico acknowledged that there is an “upward trend” in infections of covid-19 in northern states of the country, although it argued that in the rest of the territory it remains down.


The authorities also indicated that within the vaccination program More than 140.76 million doses have been applied, adding 941,396 during the last day.

Of its 126 million inhabitants, 81.79 million in the country have at least one dose of the vaccine, that is, 87% of the total population of legal age. Of that total, 81% (66.65 million) have completed their vaccination schedule.
