COVID: Mexico reports 169 new deaths from coronavirus

The Ministry of Health of Mexico reported this Thursday that the country registered 169 new deaths from COVID-19 to reach 297 thousand 356 total deaths Y two thousand 627 new infections for a total of three million 927 thousand 265 infections.

With these figures, Mexico remains the fourth country with the most deaths from the virus, behind the United States, Brazil and India, and the fifteenth in number of confirmed infections, according to the Johns Hopkins University count.

Of the number of cases, there are 18 thousand 271 active, who have presented symptoms during the last 14 days and account for 0.4% of the total. In addition, since the beginning of the pandemic, three million 281 thousand 944 people have been recovered.

The average occupancy of general beds stands at 16% and the use of intensive therapy beds at 12%.


The authorities also indicated that within the vaccination program more than 139.82 million doses have been applied, adding 968 thousand 736 during the last day.

Of its 126 million inhabitants, 81.78 million in the country have at least one dose of the vaccine, that is, 87% of the total population of legal age. Of that total, 81% (66.58 million) have completed their vaccination schedule.
