(ECNS) – The total value of goods carried by the China-Laos Railway was 100 million yuan as of Wednesday (approx city of southwest China’s Yunnan Province.
The China-Laos Railway started operations on December 3, 2021. By Wednesday, a total of 31 incoming and outgoing freight trains on the railway had been released after inspection by the customs authorities in Kunming, with a total import and export volume of 17,100 tons.
The goods on these trains included natural rubber, fertilizers, iron ore, vegetables, fruits, steel, etc., valued at approximately 107 million yuan.
The China-Laos Railway is a pioneering Belt-and-Road cooperation project between China and Laos. It will strengthen high quality economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between China and Laos, as well as between countries and regions along the Trans-Asian Railway.
