Sensory art is a new exhibition application for Augmented Reality (or AR – Augmented Reality). Advanced experience is the first exhibition to be seen Sensory art in an application whose works of art were specially created for display on this platform. The newly created AR artworks tend to explore our sensory world (or sensoriju) in connection not only with the urban environment, but also with time, creating overlaps between the past, present and future.

During the opening and the symposium of the exhibition, the curators of the exhibition will present Rasa Šmite and Raitis Šmits Sensory art Application and exhibition while the artists tell more about the works of art and how they were created. The event also offers visitors wine and snacks, and everyone is invited to experience the virtual works of art in the Latvian National Museum of Art on the Esplanade.

In the exhibition Advanced experience We invite you to see the augmented reality artworks by four Latvian artists. Research into historical materials and testimonies, Zane Zelmene’s augmented reality work omniscience Esplanade Park’s landscapes are being reconstructed at different times, from prehistory and the Middle Ages, when Mount Cube was located, to the 360-degree spheres of the last century. Man has five senses with which he can feel the world. In metaphysics, on the other hand, a person is also assigned a sixth sense, with which he can perceive time and space from a completely different perspective. Today this ability is being rediscovered through science and technology. The smartphone has become the human sixth sense, which helps to access the collective consciousness of humanity – to look into the past, present and other virtual realities.

Sabine Schne at work Floor mate explores the relationship between art, mythology and science. The soil comprises our planet and is a vital element for the maintenance of life processes. There is an opinion that the earth is an inwardly united and thinking system, which consists of millions of subsystems and can be described as living. This is Guy’s theory, named after the Greek goddess of the earth. The soil is part of the earth, part of Gaia. Inspired by Stone Age figures of Venus, the artist created a three-dimensional sculpture that is a version of Guy. It is covered with different types of soil, which are recorded on the esplanade, the location of a work of art.

In the work of Jurģis Peteris Familiar but different The process of artificial intelligence (MI) training is established in the various stages of the author’s portrait, during which a synthetic image is created from scratch, inextricably linked to the author’s original photos. By analogy with the process of human experience, it is believed that on a global scale, MI algorithms are more conscious and able to perform a particular task and understand the environment around them. At a time when these are invisible in everyday life, but most threatening
Technology is taking on more and more critical tasks – from credit checks to military drone management – the question unintentionally arises – when can we speak of a single global artificial intelligence or superintelligence?

Das Werk von Rihards Vītols The forest& is a work of art with a speculative look at the possible tree species of the future that would cover the earth to maintain their natural balance. The work of art touches on my growing interest in artificial intelligence and the interplay of nature. A collection of new tree species was created by combining data from different tree species with the help of artificial intelligence. This new collection is an alternative to the unimaginable, abstract and absurd simulation of the nature of the future. Some trees of this new species can be seen in the exhibition.
