The President added that the government would remain “neutral” in its political dealings over the upcoming campaign season.
“Neither for nor against us, opponents or party members [We are neither for or against, whether partymates or not]. We will participate in the exercise of this right, ”said Duterte, chairman of a faction in the ruling PDP-Laban.
He also reminded candidates for the 2022 election to use “extreme caution and caution” in holding their campaign-related caravans and rallies.
“Remember, we are still in a pandemic situation and any large gathering can trigger a superspreader event,” said the president. “Please curb your enthusiasm and act wisely.”
