MANILA, Philippines – A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck off Sarangani Island in Davao Occidental on Sunday morning.
the The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake was recorded at 7:48 a.m., with its epicenter traced about 285 kilometers east of Sarangani Island.
The earthquake, which is of tectonic origin, was 156 kilometers deep.

It was felt at Intensität II in Cateel, Davao Oriental.
No damage to the infrastructure is to be expected, but aftershocks are possible, added Phivolcs.
