Blonde, blue-eyed, tall and muscular: that Henning Baum became known on television as a model macho is perhaps not surprising – but the actor also likes to show his soft side. Like in the Christmas comedy “When the fifth little light is on” – to be seen on Friday on ARD – in which a snow storm ensures that complete strangers are stuck at an airport on Christmas Eve. Baum plays the lonely Thorsten, who works as Santa Claus and becomes a helper in need for the stranded passengers.

Henning Baum, in the episode film “When the fifth little light burns”, several people stranded at an airport on Christmas Eve. Has anything like it ever happened to you?

I was stranded in the transit area of Moscow Airport, back in the days of the Cold War. At that time I flew to Tanzania, and the particularly cheap tickets were via Moscow. In a little house there was someone who checked the passports, but he suddenly disappeared – our passports were inside, we were standing outside, and the door would not open.
