A young girl was hospitalized after the scooter she was traveling on collided with a car.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. tonight on Walkinstown Avenue and resulted in the street being closed.
Dublin Live assumes the girl is 12 years old.
A Garda spokesman confirmed to Dublin Live that there had been a serious traffic collision and that a young woman traveling on a scooter was being rushed to the hospital.
The young person is said to be alive, further injuries resulted from the crash.
A Gardai spokesman said: “Gardaí is currently at the site of a traffic collision on Walkinstown Avenue, Dublin 12, which occurred shortly after 6pm this evening, Wednesday December 1, 2021.
“A young woman was taken to the hospital after the incident. The scene is currently being preserved while forensic collision investigators conduct a technical investigation.
They added that “the investigation is ongoing”.
From around 6 p.m., Walkinstown Avenue, which flows into the popular Walkinstown Roundabout, was closed due to a “serious” crash.
Rescue workers rushed to the scene of the accident and the drivers were asked to deviate from the route if possible.
The Dublin Fire Department tweeted at the time: “Walkinstown Avenue is currently closed to road users after a serious traffic accident. If possible deviate from this route. ”
