New material: Hydrogel is wobbly and as hard as glass

A hobby of material research teams working with publicity is the “let the car run over” their research subject. What (or who) can withstand it shows the interested layperson impressively how stable it (or he and she) is. Most recently, for example, the robustness of living beetles or extra elastic-soft mini robots was demonstrated. Now it was the turn of “Super-Jelly” to be rolled over: an innovative, soft material that is suitable as a building material for all kinds of applications where it should remain very stable, even under high pressure, while remaining elastic and intact.
