Asian markets drop in early Monday trading on Covid-19 concerns – archyde

Investors around the world are looking in early Monday trading for clues as to the magnitude of the threat posed by the rise of the a new Covid variant.

Although sharp reversals were the order of the day during the bull that began last year after the lockdown-inspired spring market crisis, traders and portfolio managers were impressed by the ferocity of the Friday sales. US stock trading volume hit its highest level in at least 14 years the day after Thanksgiving, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 theirs Biggest Black Friday drop ever, decreasing by 2.5% and 2.3%, respectively.
