Snow Ireland: winter showers come as storm Arwen brings freezing winds – archyde

Storm Arwen will bring very windy conditions as freezing temperatures and snow hit Ireland this weekend.

Strong north winds will hit the land today and tomorrow as Storm Arwen comes in from the Atlantic.

There will be snow in parts of Ireland, with winter showers expected at high altitudes.

Met Eireann expects a cold windy day in Dublin today with temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees today.

Temperatures will drop to zero to plus 2 degrees tonight.

Strong winds will persist north-west to north and showers will be isolated mainly on coastal areas, with long clear phases developing.

And tomorrow Dubliners should expect strong winds and cold weather during the day with temperatures of around 3 or 4 degrees.

There will be more showers, again some sleet, mainly around the coastal areas with long periods of sunshine. The wind will subside later in the day.
