COVID-19: Mexico reports 4,287 new cases of the virus


The Ministry of Health reported this Wednesday 336 new deaths from COVID-19 for a total of 293,186 confirmed deaths, in addition to others 4,287 cases to reach 3 million 872 thousand 263 detected.

The country adds 17 consecutive weeks of decline in infections after a third wave that reached its peak between July and August.

The health authorities recognize that, based on the death certificates, the pandemic would be around 440 thousand deaths in the country and estimate that Mexico actually accumulates 4 million 094 thousand 478 infections.

From this figure, 20 thousand 381 are active cases, who have presented symptoms during the last 14 days and account for 0.5% of the total. In addition, since the beginning of the pandemic Three million 232 thousand 062 people have been recovered.

The average occupancy of general beds in Mexican hospitals remains at 17%, and the use of intensive care beds at 13%.

VACCINATION PLAN

The authorities also indicated that the vaccination program, which includes all those over 18 years of age, accumulates more than 131.37 million doses applied, adding 187,912 during the last day.

So far, 76.04 million people over the age of 18 have at least one dose. That is, 85% of the total population of legal age. Of that total, 85% (64.5 million) have received the complete scheme.
