Lusher, Holy Cross recover from losses with big wins – Crescent City Sports – UK

Area Prep Soccer Report for Wednesday, November 24th

Given tough schedules, Lusher Charter and Holy Cross each suffered two losses last weekend.

That tough schedule and those tough losses will only make the Lions and Tigers better teams.

Division III defending champions Lusher Charter scored an impressive 3-1 on the road win against Dutchtown on Tuesday.

At halftime, the lions led 1-0.

Senior Russell Brown and Alex Lupine sophomore each scored one goal and one assist, while Senior Evan Walsh added one goal for Lusher. Senior Carter Maggio had six saves in goal for the Lions.

Lusher (2-2-2), who played an extremely challenging schedule, will play against New Orleans Military & Maritime next Monday. The Griffins (1-2-2) will receive Baton Rouge next Tuesday.

Division II defending champions Holy Cross won a 7-1 win over South Terrebonne.

Ryan Jeanfreau had a hat trick to lead the Tigers while Ethan Carney added two goals to lead the attack.

Holy Cross (3-2) returns to action in St. Amant on Saturday at 1pm. The Gators (0-1) play next Tuesday at Central Lafourche.
