Last Thursday, November 11, the program of activities of the International Congress of Artificial Intelligence and Industry 4.0 was presented, organized by the Department of Exact Sciences and Engineering of the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac (UNIVA) that will be held on the 24th, 25th and 26 of this month.
The general objective of the forum is to establish the bases that contribute to the relationship between the actors of the academy, government, industry and society for the consolidation of the current Industry 4.0 and to promote the development of a Mexican circular economy with high respect for the environment through Artificial Intelligence.
The event was attended by Fr. Lic. Francisco Ramírez Yáñez, Rector of the UNIVA System; Dr. Juan Humberto Sossa Azuela, head of the Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory of the Computer Research Center of the National Polytechnic Institute and Dr. Edgar Gonzalo Cossio Franco, research professor of the Department of Exact Sciences and Engineering of UNIVA Guadalajara and General Coordinator of the CINIAI 2021.
Dr. Juan Humberto Sossa Azuela, honorary president of SINIAI, emphasized that “In support and solidarity to the Mexican economy due to the contingency of COVID-19, UNIVA decided to once again eliminate the registration costs for the author mode and leave a minimum recovery cost for the assistant mode.”
Through the CINIAI, it seeks to create a collaboration agenda between academia, industry and government that allows calibrating the approach that should be given to the field of AI that provides solutions to real problems and that involve society, and Identify the efforts isolated in the local environment in order to create a thematic network that allows constant collaboration for the proposal and resolution of problems of said society.
The call for the submission of papers was made to public and private universities, research centers and companies that were carrying out basic and applied research in models based on Artificial Intelligence for the modalities of: Scientific articles, posters and theses.
A total of 39 works were received, of which 21 were accepted to be presented at the event.
The CINIAI 2021 program of activities includes the presentation of 1 scientific poster, 20 investigations, as well as 3 keynote lectures by international speakers, 3 specialized workshops and the collaboration of 16 universities of high academic prestige from Mexico, Argentina and Japan.
