More than 100 firefighters fight the fire in Antrim – archyde

More than 100 firefighters fight a major fire on an industrial site in Ballymoney, County Antrim.

The fire is in a building previously known as the Fleming Poultry on Ballymena Road.

The Northern Irish Fire Rescue Service NIFRS has declared it a “serious incident”.

Group Commander David Nichol of the Northern Irish Fire and Rescue Service said: “There are currently over 100 firefighters including 9 officers, 15 pumping equipment and 10 specialty equipment dealing with the incident.”

Local residents were asked to stay in their homes and keep doors and windows closed.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

NIFRS has made arrangements to maintain emergency care across Northern Ireland while the fire is being handled.
