WISCONSIN, (WAOW) – In the wake of the Waukesha tragedy, doctors are asking for blood donations as community members across the state look for ways to help them.
Donated blood can be used for tragedy and everyday surgeries and procedures, so doctors can have blood on hand when needed.
“I would say that in situations like this there can be an exceptional need for blood. So if anyone is interested in donating blood, please contact the local blood donation centers and please take advantage of this, ”said Dr. Michael Gutzeit, chief medical officer for Wisconsin for children.
The Northcentral Wisconsin Blood Center said it needed all blood types, especially type 0 blood and platelet donors.
Below are blood drives, times, and locations happening in Central Wisconsin this week and next.
11/22 – 11/26: Blood Center of Northcentral Wisconsin: Monday through Friday 8 am-4:30pm (closed on Thanksgiving) and every second Tuesday of the month from 8 am-6:30 am.
