BILD starts the new crime podcast TATORT DEUTSCHLAND. From now on, actor Sky du Mont will tell the stories of various moving criminal cases in the weekly new episodes. The podcast series is based on exclusive BILD documentaries, which can now also be experienced acoustically, and was produced by Wake Word Studios. Here it is pendant and the first episode.

In five episodes, the production tells of the spectacular and thrilling crime research carried out by the BILD editorial team. The story of Jan Sander is told at the beginning of the report “Der V-Mann”. As a “double agent” he mixed up the Hamburg red light district and was in acute danger of death. The double episode “Clans von Berlin” traces the history and present of organized crime with large families. Other episodes deal with the “Killer von Herne”, who in 2017 killed two people in cold blood. It also tells the life of the “German Escobar” Ronald Miehling, who went down in crime history as the snow king.

“This mix of topics of exciting stories and good research is a new experience for me in my many years as an artist,” enthuses Sky du Mont. The 74-year-old actor (Der Schuh des Manitou, “(T) raumschiff Surprise”) is the voice of the new podcast series “Tatort Germany – The Crime Documentary by BILD”.

“We are examining how we can pass on exclusive content and exciting BILD stories on the audio platforms. This is an opportunity that arises from our work in print, online and TV, ”says BILD editor-in-chief Johannes Boie. “Our chief reporter Christin Wahl and Frank Schneider as well as the audio specialists at Wake Word Studios show impressively how gripping such stories can be written and set to music today.”

Wake Word Studios (“11 Lives – the world of Uli Hoeneß”, “Chasing Marsalek”) wrote and produced the podcast series based on the BILDplus documentation together with the BILD editorial team.

“With Sky du Mont, together with BILD, we were able to win one of the most beautiful and well-known voices in Germany for the project. This unmistakable coloring underlines the high standards of the production ”, says Wake Word boss Sven Rühlicke. Since December 2020, Axel Springer has also been involved in the full-service audio agency that he and Ruben Schulze-Fröhlich founded. Axel Springer wants to become the leading media company for audio journalism in German-speaking countries by 2025 and has set up an audio team for this, which is anchored in the BILD Group and the WELT Group and supports the conception and implementation of new audio formats.

TATORT DEUTSCHLAND can be heard on BILD.de and everywhere there are podcasts – including at Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon music.
