The speaker of the Libyan parliament presents papers for the presidential vote – archyde

CAIRO (Reuters) – The spokesman for the Libyan parliament based in the east, Aguila Saleh, submitted papers for the presidential election on Saturday.

The elections, scheduled for December 24th, remain in doubt amid disputes over the rules.

“I came to the headquarters of the High Electoral Commission in Benghazi today to submit the necessary documents for the nomination for President of the Libyan Republic,” he said on “Libya Votes TV”.
