The friendly Londoners who spend £ 5,000 on Ubers so women can get home safely due to “sexual terrorism” – archyde

A group founded by a Londoner has pledged to pay for the Ubers home after they were concerned about their safety.

The group, called Haussafe, was launched by London Match Sienkiewicz after the murder of Sarah Everard sparked talks across the country about women’s safety.

Home Safe said on its Instagram: “Dear men, just because you’re not part of the problem doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be part of the solution.”

You said in another post: “We don’t want to use the term ‘harassment’. What is happening today is sexual terrorism. “

Through donations from GoFundMe, the group raised £ 5,368 prior to the start of the campaign on December 1st.

On the fundraising side it says: “We want to bring women, girls and everyone who needs us home safely.

“We’re here to help those who can’t afford to get an Uber home. Our mission is to alleviate the financial stress that is often the main reason women and girls make a less safe journey home.

“Through donations, we can help reimburse Uber trips for those who may not be able to afford them.”

Women and other vulnerable people can book an Uber and send the receipt to Home Safe, and the group will then reimburse as much of the ride as possible.

Although her Instagram handle is @homesafeldn, the group has confirmed that she will serve women and the vulnerable across the UK.

Some concerns were raised about the new campaign and the group answered questions on their Instagram.

In response to those who cheat the campaign for a free ride when they don’t ‘need’ it, the group said, “I’m sure there will be people who will try to cheat us. We have systems in place to minimize this as much as possible.
