The professional retailer, which is controlled by the investment fund Mid Europa Partners, has reached the threshold of 100 stores operating according to the New Profi concept after just one year after opening the first store of its kind in Ploieşti and taking the next step digitization.

“In 2021, we started to revolutionize the look and feel they convey by introducing the New Professional and Convenience Shopping concept. In 2022 we will massively multiply this model and at the same time the revolution within Profi through digitization and a large number of programs, including the use of artificial intelligence for the benefit of our customers, ”said Pawel Musial, CEO of Profi.

The latter, according to the professional representatives, is a format that appeals to rural areas and provides access to local products.

After the implementation of this concept at the retail chain level, sales increased, according to representatives of the retailer.

The decision was made to continue investing heavily in company growth and at the same time to embark on a new path for the development of professionals. With this in mind, Pawel Musial claims that the expansion will be carried out at a sustained pace from now on, but the number of new stores will be subdued and the number of existing stores will be rebuilt.

“Zone Fiigo finds its place in all new or refurbished stores so that people on the way to or from work or when they forget something have a place to complete their shopping the remodeling of such a market requires a place comparable investment volume as the opening of a new store ”, said the professional managing director.

In 2022, in addition to redesigning the offline stores, Profi will be working on a new digital look with a redesigned website and a digitized loyalty program.

At the same time, the retailer will be implementing home delivery and other forms of e-commerce over the next year.

Profi has over 1,500 offline stores in Romania, 600 of which are from partner companies and around 25,000 employees at over 700 locations.

In 2020, the retailer had sales of 8.8 billion lei, 22% more than the previous year.
