Jonathan David is reportedly available for a transfer. The Canadian can be a future star for Liverpool.
Le10Sport claims Lille will try to sell Jonathan David. You signed the Ghent player back in 2020 and his development has been remarkable.
Unfortunately, Lille also needs money and is therefore more than open to offers for the striker. People like Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keeping an eye on the situation.
And we believe Liverpool should too. David could be their next striker.
Jonathan David available for transfer
Liverpool already seem to value David highly. The Liverpool Echo claims, among other things, that the Reds had him on their list before they signed Diogo Jota.
And it’s easy to see why. David is a wonderful fit for Liverpool’s style of play and has established himself as a fantastic striker last season.
Of course, that’s exactly what the Reds want in a long-term successor to Roberto Firmino. David is brilliant at connecting play, pushing hard and making space for others.
This is a big part of the reason why Lille managed to win Ligue 1 last season. David formed a partnership with Yurak Bilmaz that was too much for the French defense.
We can only imagine what David could do with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane as well as Jota. And that’s not even all.
David impressed last season, but there was one thing that kept him from stardom – goals. He finished the campaign at 13 in Ligue 1, which is a great number for a 20-year-old but below the stars for his age group.
However, that has changed this season. David is currently the top goalscorer in Ligue 1 with eight out of ten starts, just ahead of Kylian Mbappe.
This is a young striker with all the tools to play, score goals and deliver trophies in the Liverpool system. To top it off, he is currently helping Canada qualify for the World Cup alongside Alphonso Davies.
We think David could be very special, let alone be a good fit for Liverpool. If Lille is really ready to sell, the Reds should get involved.
